Alpine Meadows Road to Five Lakes Easy     Angora Lakes Easy-Mod  
An short hike leads from one of Tahoe's famous ski resorts to an attractive timberline lake basin tucked beneath the Sierra crest. Located in Granite Chief Wilderness in the Tahoe National Forest. 3.8 miles

   

Angora Lakes is an easy, enjoyable trip. The short hike leads to Lower and Upper Angora Lakes, home of Angora Lake Resort.

Bayview Trail to Velma Lakes Mod-Diff     Big Meadow Easy-Mod  
It is a partial loop trip, consisting of 10.5 miles through the heart of the Desolation Wilderness, samples several cirque-bound lakes amid the characteristic granite terrain.

    Big Meadow is a beautiful subalpine meadow covered in wildflowers with Big Meadow Creek meandering through it.

Big Meadow to Carson Pass Moderate     Cascade Falls Trail Easy-Mod  
With arrangements for a shuttle, a nearly 8-mile trip travels through the heart of the proposed 31,100-acre Meiss Meadow Wilderness. 10.4 miles     Cascade Falls tumbles 200 feet down smooth granite rock into Cascade Lake. The hike to Cascade Falls follows a hillside ridge 350 feet above Cascade Lake.

Castle Peak Difficult     Castle Valley, Round Valley, and Andesite Peak Easy-Mod  
A climb to one of North Tahoe’s highest summits provides summiteers with an expansive view of the northern Sierra, which on clear days includes distant Lassen Peak in the north and the coastal hills.
